Goodreads Integrations into MelCat

GoodReads is now integrated into MelCat.  While you can't create lists in MeLCat itself for a variety of reasons, the good folks on the MeLCat team at the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services have created this brilliant work-around. Now, in every bibliographic record in MeLCat you have the option on the right hand side of the screen to add it to one of your GoodReads shelves such as "to read," "currently reading" or "read."

GoodReads is a popular booklovers site that lets you keep track of what you're reading and write reviews that you can share with your friends on the GoodReads site itself and also in other social media outlets such as Facebook. There are hundreds of thousands of reviews by other readers that you can use to help you decide whether to take the plunge with a new book. There are annual reading challenges, book clubs and discussion groups for practically every genre and reading interest, and online meet-ups with your favorite authors. But one of GoodReads most effective tools is the ability to keep track not only of what you've read but what you want to read, hence the importance of its integration into MeLCat.

MeL databases are available to Michigan residents or Michigan library access only.
