2017 Annual Appeal Workshop

Workshop for White Pine Member Libraries

Mark Morrow from the Breton Group will conduct a workshop on letter writing campaign for raising funds for the library.  Workshop leaders will work with each library to prepare the necessary letters.  Participants will leave the workshop with a letter that can be used to fund raise. This is a pilot project.  Once you have completed your campaign, and are satisfied, there will be a cost - possibly $500+, per library.  There is no cost to attend the workshop.  The workshop is a follow up to the presentation that Mark gave at the last (September) Advisory Meeting.

Please let Bryon Sitler know if you will attend.

WHO
White Pine Library Cooperative Member Libraries
It is not necessary to have attended the Ad Council meeting to attend this workshop.

WHAT
The Breton Group will offer a half-day workshop to help library leaders develop and execute a fall 2017 annual giving mailing. The service would help library leaders:

  • Develop a personalized local appeal letter (Case Statement) utilizing provided letter drafts and day-of, hands-on coaching/editing guidance
  • Customize an appeal brochure that when completed that day is ready to print (in-house at your library or a local printer)
  • Determine how to best personalize each letter either by data (electronic) or hand-written additions by staff or volunteers

Outline an annual appeal of Board members prior to public appeal

  • Evaluate the library prospect pool to identify the data necessary for the fall appeal

Provide example of accountability reports to the community
